About Our Director

Marsha Asquith has been with the Huntsville Concert Band since 2002, for 10 years as a member of the French horn section and for 13 years as Music Director. She is a graduate of Huntsville High School and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. From 1989 to 2022, Ms. Asquith taught K-12 band and choir in middle and high schools in Texas and Alabama. She was the first band director at the new Columbia/New Century High School and Providence K-8 School and taught for 14 years at Meridianville Middle School and Moores Mill Intermediate School. She has played French horn with professional orchestras throughout the South, performs regularly in the metro Huntsville area, and teaches privately. Ms. Asquith currently works at The Riley Center in Huntsville as the Intermediate teacher in their Day School.
